Electrical Software Design Engineer, £Neg dependant on experience (£45,000 – £55,000 per annum)

Manufacturing and Distribution Company based in Norwich

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

Main Duties

– Write control software programs as detailed by the Technical department and associated functional specification (FS)

– Write software programs for safety PLC’s as detailed by the FS and design risk assessment in compliance with relevant standards

– Ensure control systems are in accordance with EU standards as specified for CE marking and HSE compliance

– Create HMI image data as required using appropriate software

– Liaise with the electrical department in allocating and agreeing I/O identity and other associated elements of machine control

– To become proficient in the use of Wherry, Allen Bradley and Schneider Motion Control & PLC Software

– Programming & Verifying ATMEL Micro Controllers

– Review and develop software technology leasing with the Technical department with a view to managed change implementation program

– To become proficient in the use of Siemens and Beckhoff PLC programming & software

– Create Sistema files as required

– Maintain and update software records and program backup data

– To visit customers premises as and when required to update/fault find /commission/install and repair machinery

– To be prepared to work flexible hours both on site and away on customers premises as and when required

– To be prepared for staying away and working on customers machinery as required

– To undertake appropriate training courses as and when required

– To undertake and conform to company and Safe Contractor working practices.

– Provide time estimates of software programming for project estimating purposes.

– Other duties within employee’s skill set as directed by company management
