Full Time – Permanent (Starting Feb 2024)

Hales Group are delighted to be working alongside their client, a well established food manufacturing company based in Lowestoft, in the recruit for an experienced Building Services Manager.

The Technical Services Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all of the utility production and distribution plant and equipment, along with the condition and maintenance of all of the buildings and site infrastructure.

Main Job Purpose:

To maintain and improve the condition of the sites buildings and infrastructure including development of an integrated maintenance policy and plan, also to act as technical advisor to anybody who is planning any changes to the sites infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Managing the maintenance of all site buildings and infrastructure to an agreed standard.
  • Managing contractors and service providers
  • Managing agreed building maintenance budget.
  • Liaise with legislative and certifying bodies ensuring any changes or new additions meet with legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining site standards and specification.
  • Managing all aspects of scaffolding requirements.
  • Managing all Health, Safety and Environmental aspects where these relate to responsibility.
  • Liaise with Local Council and Building Control

Key Skills:

  • Background in building / construction industry.
  • Developing detailed specifications for aspects in the construction environment.
  • Management of contractors.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene standards would be advantageous
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Understanding of the CDMregs 2017

Key Qualifications:

  • A level of technical qualifications to support experience.
  • Construction industry Health and Safety qualifications NEBOSH or equivalent.
  • Appropriate qualifications to meet CDM co-ordinator requirements.

Additional Information

  • The individual taking on this role will need to have a high level of personal drive and commitment.
  • The person should be able to demonstrate the ability to influence people with clear, rational arguments and good levels of communication.
